The Oregon Jury Project public education campaign is up and running...on the web and via TV public service announcements on Oregon's most widely viewed TV station: KGW-News Channel 8.
The TV and web campaign is a proactive approach to counteract the barrage of assaults on our basic constitutional rights.

To view the TV public service announcements, you can watch KGW (8) or go to www.oregonjuries.org and click on the upper right hand corner to view the TV spots on your computer.
The TV campaign began in October and runs through December 11th.
The TV PSA features the powerful and tragic story of Patricia Unger, a Medford hospital worker who died when she was given medication that burned her from the inside out. It was a totally preventable death, says her son Mark Unger on the TV ads. The jury system delivered the accountability that he and his family needed for such an egregious and unnecessary death.
In his gravelly, straightforward voice, Unger cautions that powerful interest groups want you to give up your constitutional rights to a trial by jury. Don’t do it. "If you think your constitutional right to a trial by jury isn’t important," he says, "think again."
You may be familiar with the Ungers' story from Forbes magazine or The Oregonian's Margie Boule columns. Through the TV PSA, the story and the message of the importance of juries can reach a wider audience.
The Oregon Jury Project chose KGW as a partner because it is Portland's No. 1 most watched television station and its reach extends to 66 percent of the state as well as southern Washington. KGW has achieved the highest overall viewership in the past 21 consecutive ratings surveys. The spots run on select daytime and evening shows - from newscasts to Oprah.
So watch KGW, watch the TV spots and send the www.oregonjuries.org link to friends and colleagues.
